Web Content Management System

What does the term Web CMS mean?

The term Web CMS stands for Web Content Management System. It's a mouth-full, we know, so we often refer to it just as "WCMS" or "CMS".

The Purpose

The purpose of the WCMS, in short, is to allow departments and offices the ability to quickly and efficiently update their web sites in an organized and collaborative manner. It also allows websites to maintain a consistent look and feel throughout by using the standard CMICH Web Template. In the event that any changes are made to the standard CMICH Web Template, these changes will be implemented by IT and carry over to every site within the CMS automatically.

WCMS User Community

In order to help bring the WCMS user community together, IT has created a WCMS User Team Site in SharePoint, which you will find here. If you're a current WCMS user, you've automatically been added as a user to this site.

Here, you will find system announcements, training materilas, discussion topics and you'll also have the opptortunity to interact with fellow WCMS users and ask questions and gain knowledge from them.
