Where are the Computer Labs?

There are two large public labs on campus. The College of Business operates a 130 PC workstation lab, located on the first level in Grawn. Information Technology operates a lab containing over 100 computers, located in lower level Woldt. In addition to the computer labs, the Library offers over 300 public workstations distributed throughout the facility.

What Software is Available?


There is a large selection of general software available in the Woldt computer lab, as well as a variety of software package specially requested by class professors. Some of the more common software packages are:
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Freehand
  • Illustrator
  • Macromedia Director
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver
  • Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Minitab
  • SPSS

The Grawn computer lab maintains Microsoft Office XP for general use, as well as software specific to CBA classes.

Is there any specialized software available in these labs?

All three computer labs maintain several color scanners, and at least one color printer. The Woldt computer lab has scanners for both Macintosh and PC platforms.

When are the labs open?

The Grawn computer lab is open 24 hours a day during the week when classes are in session and on a reduced schedule on the weekends. The Woldt computer lab is open around-the-clock every day of the week, including holidays (except during Christmas break and during the summer).

I have a document from a program that isn't on the list of available software...

...Is there any way I can work on that document in the computer labs?

It depends. Visit a consultant at the main desk in the Woldt computer lab. The consultant can advise you on whether or not there is a way to convert your document in to a form usable on lab machines or contact the OIT Help Desk at (989) 774-3662.

Do any labs have color printers?

The Woldt computer lab and the Grawn Main lab have color laser printers available for educational use. See the lab consultant for assistance.
