How can I obtain information regarding the equipment in the mediated classrooms?
Since many of the rooms vary, and there is no universal norm among the rooms. Call Media Services at (989) 774-3891 for room-specific information.
I need equipment for my class project, where do I go?
Call Media Services at (989) 774-3891. The equipment you need might already be installed in a nearby mediated classroom. Also, there are carts of equipment (TV/VCR set-ups, video projector carts, data projector carts and “smart carts.” Smart carts contain a data projector, VCR, visualizer and built-in laptop) located in drop points in four buildings (Moore, Anspach, Pearce and Grawn).
If the equipment is not available in a nearby classroom, you can reserve and check out the equipment from Media Services. Students can also make use of these services, but verification from your instructor is required. If you have questions, please call (989) 774-3891.
Student use of videos is for classroom presentation only. A student may check out the video the day of his or her presentation. Any prior research must be done here at our office, making use of our viewing stations. Laptops and data projectors are for class presentations only. Any use above and beyond that by student, staff or faculty requires renting of the equipment.
If I need assistance using my mediated equipment or if I have problem with it, who can help me?
Contact Media Services at (989) 774-3891. They can help you learn how to use equipment when it is picked up from our office.
If you are experiencing problems in a mediated classroom, call Media Services at (989) 774-3891. Many mediated classrooms come equipped with mounted phones that automatically dial our lines the moment they are picked up. If the problem cannot be resolved over the phone, a technician will be sent to the class.
Do you have a place to view videos in the office?
Yes, there are eight viewing stations here in our office where you can watch videos or DVD’s. This is useful for doing research, or if an instructor has placed a video on reserve. Contact Media Services at (989) 774-3891 or visit Media Services located in Park Library 101.
