Our merit-based transfer scholarship requirements start with a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement and/or a minimum of 12 credits earned. Work with your current school’s counselor to see how you can bring your current GPA and/or credits up to that range. Other scholarships require you to be a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.
Although you may not qualify for transfer awards at this time, there are still steps you can take to help manage the cost like:
- Once you’re admitted, you’ll have access to other scholarship opportunities through CMU and third parties, including from your academic program.
- Work study (main campus students): Eligible students with financial need can help cover college costs through work study, a program to help students find part-time employment on campus. Eligibility for work study will be determined based on information on your FAFSA and application for admission.
- Campus employment (main campus students): We have more than 5,000 student employment opportunities on campus to help students earn additional income.
- Financial Wellness Collaborative: Our financial wellness team is dedicated to helping you understand and manage finances, from student loans and textbooks to housing and utilities.
