U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Central Michigan University among the top regional public universities. CMU was founded in 1892 as a college for teachers and business people. The university has evolved into a doctoral-research university that offers a comprehensive selection of more than 200 academic programs at the bachelors, master's, specialist's and doctoral levels.
