Student-Athlete Dedicated Counselor

I support each student-athlete's mental health and wellness not only within their sport, but within all aspects of their life. Balancing athletics, academics, relationships, families, and daily life experiences can be overwhelming; counseling is a space where individuals can learn new skills and strategies to navigate daily life. Being mentally tough is not synonymous with being shatterproof.

Counseling is a collaborative process. I place a high value in the therapeutic relationship and will make every effort to understand each individual, and their lived experience. I will work to create a comfortable environment to help one feel safe to share their story. Everyone has the power within themselves to make positive changes in their life; my role is to help draw on strengths, support growth, and provide tools to handle life's challenges as they come.

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology (Minor: Substance Abuse Intervention and Prevention) and Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Central Michigan University. I have worked with the CMU Counseling Center since 2016, and in the role of Student-Athlete Dedicated Counselor since 2018. Prior to my roles at CMU, I worked as a therapist in the community, and as the Sexual Assault Response Team Lead at Behavioral Health Programs for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.
