Sketch of Coming Health Professions Building

Health Professions Building (Artist Rendering)

Rising over two stories and encompassing 175, 000 square feet of space, the Health Professions Building is an architectural gem at the gateway to the center of Central Michigan University’s [CMU] campus. Featuring technologically advanced research, instructional and educational resources designed to actively engage and support student learning, this state-of-the-art building will address the urgent resource needs of CMU’s growing health professions programs. The building features four main wings: the Carls Center for Clinical Care and Education [Clinical Wing], the Instructional wing, the Research and Applied Learning wing, and the Administrative/Office wing. The superior technology and telecommunication capabilities contained within the building are designed to not only support the education of on-campus learners, but also to extend educational access to rural and undeserved communities of central and northern Michigan and to provide ongoing learning and research links for CMU student interns, alumni and community partners. As one of the premier educational facilities in the nation, the Health Professions Building on CMU’s campus is designed to be a place where learning and connections happen across disciplines. It is a facility where customized learning will occur in an environment tailored to support the way individual students learn. The building is designed to encourage community linkages and engagement. It is a place where the future is now.
