PASSWORDS - Your CMU password does a lot, including getting you into the Portal. Protect your account by using a secure password, and change it often! Never give your password to anyone. If someone requests your password, report them to security@cmich.edu.

GO PHISH - You know the drill, you get an email asking you to ‘verify your account' or asking for your log in information. Either way, they want your password. Here's the deal, no one needs your password but YOU! Never give your password to anyone. If someone requests your password, report them to security@cmich.edu.

THE THING FROM THE INTERNET - Are you SURE that unknown attachment came form your friend? Better find out before clicking it. Viruses, worms and other malicious software love to travel by email and instant messaging. Make sure you scan any files with antivirus software or you may be in for a nasty surprise.
