CMU Libraries play an important role in supporting research and
instructional activities for faculty and students. We collect and
preserve resources in a variety of formats, languages and subjects for
all disciplines.
Journals
We offer access to more than 85,000 journals in support of user's research and learning needs. View the

Books
Curated to support student learning, degree programs and curricula, we own in excess of 650,000 print titles and provide access to more than 875,000 eBooks, which can be searched using
Library Smart Search.
Betty A McDonald Children’s Literature Collection
The Betty A. McDonald Children’s Literature Collection consists of more than 25,000 volumes of outstanding works for young people, including picture books, as well as fiction and nonfiction books for
children and young adults. The collection is located on the fourth floor of Park Library. Many of the books contained in the collection are award-winning titles of prestigious children’s literature prizes such as the Caldecott, Newberry and Coretta

Clarke Historical Library
The
Clarke Historical Library collects,
preserves and promotes nationally recognized collections including materials on the history of Michigan and the Old Northwest Territory, the history of Central Michigan University, children's literature, campaign biographies of United States presidential
candidates, the history of angling and historic Michigan newspapers.
CMU Scholarly and Creative Works
CMU Scholarly and Creative Works is an online repository that provides open access to
more than 1,000 CMU theses and dissertations, undergraduate research projects and faculty/staff research projects.
Government documents
We have been a selective government documents depository library since 1958 and provide access to more than 500,000 publications of the United States government. Our collection consists of online and print items, as well as microforms.
Users can use
Library Smart Search and
GPO Monthly Catalog to access
the collection.
Music resources
We develop and maintain a collection of music that includes over 7,500 print scores, and more than 11,000 CDs and 6,000 LPs available on the fourth floor of Park Library, as well as electronic scores accessible through Smart Search.

Art collections
The CMU Libraries stewards the majority of
the
Central Michigan University Art Collection which
contains over 700 unique works of art created by alumni and nationally recognized artists. New acquisitions are continually added. The works are displayed throughout the campus, including Park Library, and range from monumental sculptures to prints, paintings,
fiber art, ceramics and drawings.
Legal materials
CMU Libraries provide access to major legal resources through two databases
Westlaw and
HeinOnline. Remote access to these databases is limited to individuals with a CMU email address.
