The Central Michigan University Clinical Research Institute meets a significant need for Michigan’s children―pediatric clinical and translational research. Physicians who conduct research are on the cutting-edge of medicine. The CMU CRI facilitates and advances child health through research innovation, education and mentorship; thereby improving the outcomes and quality of life for children.
Through partnerships with investigators at Central Michigan University, University Pediatricians and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, the CMU CRI shapes clinical practice through research by creating a better understanding of the mechanisms that lead to pediatric disease and conditions. This process enables us to better predict outcomes, to improve our support of patients and the families that participate in our studies, and to refine our practice guidelines in pediatric populations.
The CMU CRI supports research investigators through grants administration, regulatory management, research design and analysis, support of clinical and basic science research, research mentorship education and training.
By examining relevant lessons that we have learned from adult populations, understanding of the quality of life implications of both disease and clinical treatment and developing well-powered clinical trials and collaborations, we create an environment for success.
The CMU/University Pediatricians Clinical Research Institute gratefully acknowledges the generous support provided by The Children’s Foundation, the Festival of Trees and the Evergreen Endowment.
