Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Studies Certificate
This 12-credit hour certificate is designed for degree-seeking students of any major and non-degree-seeking students who desire to improve accessibility for individuals who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing (D/HOH) and their families across educational, social, and professional environments. To earn the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing certificate, you must successfully complete ASL 100, ASL 101, ASL 305, and ASL 306.

Program goals
- Provide students and working professionals with skills to address the communication, cultural, and accessibility needs of individuals who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing (D/HOH) across educational, social, and professional environments.
- Improve communication and quality-of-life outcomes for children, youth, and adults who are D/HOH and their families.
- Position Central Michigan University at the forefront of addressing diversity, equity and inclusion of persons who are D/HOH.
