Traditional BSN Application Process
The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program has two application cycles each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. You must meet the admission criteria to be eligible for admission into the traditional BSN program.
Application process
To begin your traditional BSN program application and be considered for admission into the traditional BSN program, you must meet the following:
- CMU student with a CMU email and password.
- If you previously graduated from CMU, attended CMU more than three years ago and did not graduate, or have no history of attending CMU and are currently enrolled at another college or university, you must apply to CMU and be officially admitted to the university before starting your traditional BSN program application.
- For fall semester admission into the traditional BSN program, your CMU application for admission into the university must be completed by February 15th.
- For spring semester admission into the traditional BSN program, your CMU application for admission into the university must be completed by September 15th.

- Completion of prerequisite courses.
- If you are currently enrolled as a student at CMU with a CMU email and password, all nine CMU prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the review of your application. Your traditional BSN program application will be pending review if you are enrolled in prerequisite courses at the time you submit your application. Once your course(s) are completed and final grades are published, your application will be reviewed.
- For prerequisite courses completed at another institution, you must have official transcript(s) sent directly to CMU from every college or university you attended to validate course completion and final course grade(s) before your traditional BSN nursing application can be submitted. Once the transcript(s) are received, the CMU Admissions personnel will evaluate all courses completed and confirm which may transfer to CMU for credit.
- For any questions related to prerequisite courses, contact the College of Health Professions Student Service Center at 989-774-3940 or chp@cmich.edu.
