PA Application Requirements

How to apply

  1. Apply through CASPA. The CASPA portal open in April every year. Your CASPA application must include:
    • Three letters of recommendation.
    • Minimum 500 hours of direct patient care experience.
    • A personal statement.
  2. Pay CMU supplemental application fee of $50. We offer a fee waiver for any applicant that was granted a fee waiver through CASPA.
  3. Once your CASPA application is verified and the supplemental application fee has been submitted, your application will be reviewed by the admissions committee.
  4. Applicants will be invited for an in-person interview based on points total from application. 
  5. Applicants that interview with the program will be admitted on a rolling basis. 

Application requirement checklist

A complete application consists of the following:

  • Completed and verified CASPA application by September 1st.
  • Paid CMU supplemental application fee of $50
  • TOEFL if applicable.
  • Prerequisite courses:
    • Anatomy lecture and lab.
    • Physiology lecture and lab.
    • Pathophysiology.
    • Microbiology (with or without lab).
    • Biochemistry (with or without lab).
    • Developmental psychology.
  • Bachelor's degree completed by May prior to matriculation.

Interview process

If you have been invited for an interview, you will complete the interview on our campus. Interviews are held between August and October each admission cycle.  You will meet faculty, staff, and students as part of your interview day.   

Rolling admission

Offers of admission are made on a rolling basis following the interview process which begins in August.  Offers of admission are continually made until November.   

You will be notified of your admission status (accepted, waitlist, declined) by the end of November. 

Transfer and advanced placement

Our PA students must complete all program courses in sequential order as offered through the program. No transfer credit from other PA schools is allowed. No advanced placement or transfer of credit is allowed to fulfill any course in our PA program.
