Wellness and counseling

We recognize the importance of your physical, mental, and emotional health. We encourage you to seek help early if you are experiencing difficulties to help support your success. Please reach out to the CMU Counseling Center at 989-774-3381 or email counsel@cmich.edu.

If you are concerned about a student who may be feeling overwhelmed, or experiencing challenging life events, please consider filling out a CMU Cares Report. CMU CARES serves all CMU students and connects them with relevant support and resources for their situation.

Contact the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255). The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention, and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. More information is available at suicidepreventionlifeline.org.

White coat ceremony

Our white coat ceremony is a significant milestone in your education. It signifies your transition from didactic education to clinical education. The white coat ceremony takes place after the final didactic semester and prior to starting the clinical portion of your education. It serves to recognize your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serve. The white coat ceremony is a celebration for you to share with your family and friends.

Commencement ceremony

Our commencement ceremony is another significant milestone in your education. It recognizes your completion of the PA program and your transition from academia to clinical practice. It is a celebration to be shared with faculty, family, friends, and others who have supported you to make your achievements possible.
