Therapeutic modalities
Research in the area of therapeutic modalities is directed at assessing the commonly used treatments provided in many health care facilities. Current investigations range from cryo- and thermal therapy to electrical agents such as L.A.S.E.R. and electrical stimulation. Common outcome assessed include modality influences on pain perception, temperature changes during rest and following active exercise, skeletal muscle elasticity (e.g., stretching and myofascial release), and healing.
