Working on campus with graduate assistantships

Work on campus with no commute and the flexibility to schedule around classes and research.

Graduate assistantships provide hands-on experience in teaching, research or administrative roles. You’ll earn a stipend, tuition waiver and a head start in the job market.

Campus student support

Academic and well-being support just moments away from where you live and study. 

  • Research and library support: Access more than 85,000 research journals, 650,000 printed titles and thousands more items online. Set up a one-on-one meeting with subject librarians or reserve one of our quiet, private study and research rooms. 
  • Counseling center: Staffed by licensed mental health professionals and graduate level trainees, the Counseling Center offers free and confidential mental health support.
  • Food Pantry: Offering a variety of food, hygiene and cleaning products, the Student Food Pantry is available to all students.
  • Student Disability Services: Find support for academic accommodations and auxiliary aids, as well as campus-wide efforts to promote access and inclusion.
  • Writing Center: Available for any writing, at any level, from any discipline, find free consultations at every stage of the writing process.
  • Student Activity Center: Take a dip in the state-of-the-art aquatic center, burn some energy in 12,000 square-foot-fitness center or join one of our intramural or club teams. 
  • Statistical Consulting Center: Support and training in all phases of a research project including; research planning, design of experiments and surveys, methods of analysis, use of statistical computing programs and interpretation of results.
  • Career Development Center: Get assistance crafting your résumé, attend networking events or participate in mock interviews. There’s also more than 25,000 job and internship opportunities posted for CMU students by employers.
