Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan

The logo for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has been a long-standing partner with Central Michigan University for more than 20 years. The organization has provided financial support to CMU research and has partnered with many departments on professional development opportunities.  Their focused funding of public health research for faculty and students makes a positive impact on the health and wellness of Michigan communities.

Blue Cross Blue Shield is not only recognized for its financial contributions to the University but the impact and job opportunities they afford to the 500 CMU Alumni currently employed. Their organization actively recruits and mentors CMU students for internships and full-time positions in multiple disciplines ranging from finance, information systems, human resources to a variety of others.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is a sponsor of the Enterprise Resource Planning simulation program (referred to as E.R.P.sim) at Central Michigan University.  This unique event is an interactive experience that allows teams of students to solve real-time problems with the help of mentors from sponsoring companies, often leading to full-time employment offers to student participants.

Tricia Keith, Class of 1993 and Blue Cross Blue Shield Executive Vice President, currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, providing leadership and engagement that is key for the growth of CMU’s presence in Detroit and across the state of Michigan.
