Dick Enberg CMU Alumni Commitment Award

Mike and Pam Murray 1975; 1977, 1983

Headshot of 2024 Alumni Award Dick Enberg CMU Alumni Commitment Recipients Mike and Pam Murray and Mike is standing left in black tux and maroon bow tie and Pam is standing right wearing a maroon and white dress and they are smiling with teeth.

This award is named after legendary sports broadcaster and alumni Dick Enberg, ’57. Throughout his career, Enberg gave endlessly of his time, talent and treasure, building an endowment that would do for thousands of others what CMU had done for him — and a quarter million other alumni.

Michael R. Murray and Pamela Wasko Murray have a deep commitment to CMU that harkens back to their days as students, becoming annual donors in 1977. Today, Mike and Pam are Advancement Board members and both have served on multiple boards and committees at CMU.

The couple support the Chippewa Champions Center, and they created the Michael and Pamela Wasko Murray Endowed Student Award in Entrepreneurship and the Michael and Pamela Wasko Murray Endowed Medical Student Award. They provided the seed funding for the Football Championship Endowment, and their additional gift to the Football 1100 Club Championship Fund led to it being renamed the Mike and Pam Murray Football Championship Fund. They also have contributed named gifts for on-campus projects including the College of Business Grawn Hall renovation, the Kulhavi Event Center and the Culinary Nutrition Center.

Mike and Pam have mentored dozens of students through the College of Business Administration’s Dialogue Days, and they’ve stayed in touch with many of them, following their careers and continuing to offer guidance. They hope their philanthropy will inspire others to share their time, talent and treasure with CMU.

The Central Michigan University Alumni Association is honored and proud to announce Mike and Pam Murray as the recipient of this year’s Dick Enberg CMU Alumni Commitment Award.
