Weather and Public-Safety Related Closures
Below is an incomplete list of occasions when Central Michigan University canceled operations due to weather, public health emergencies, or other causes. This list does not include cancelations of extra-curricular or athletics events, when the University
was still operating. Please contact the Clarke if you know of any other campus cancelations.

Sept. 11, 2001 | Classes were cancelled in response to terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, The Pentagon in Arlington, VA and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. |

Spring-Summer 2020 | Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all on-campus classes transitioned to online learning on March 16. Some on-campus classes resumed on June 29 (Summer II). Fall semester classes resumed on campus August 17. Most CMU employees worked remotely
from March 23 through June 15, when a phased return to working on campus began. A hybrid class model was implemented in fall 2020 and used during the 2020-21 academic year. |
