Big and Little Sib Program

The sibling program was initiated at CMU College of Medicine to support incoming M1 students with the opportunity to be paired with an M2 student to help guide them during their first year of medical school. The goal of the CMU College of Medicine Big Sib/Little Sig Program is to facilitate connections between the M1 and M2 classes. Specifically, the Big Sib mentors will be available to help ease the transition into medical school and advise Little Sibs regarding issues such as student life, workload, study tactics, and more.

Big and Little Sibs stand together and smile at a playground.

The program will also create social opportunities for Big Sibs and Little Sibs to get to know each other in an informal, laid-back environment, such as a Big Sib/Little Sib barbecue, CMU Football tailgating, Coffee with your Big or Little, and so on. It provides a unique opportunity for incoming students to gain insight and advice about medical school, CMU, Mt Pleasant, and beyond!

Incoming students will have the opportunity to sign up for the program before orientation.

Please contact one of the chair members below if you are interested in the program or have more questions.
