Volunteerism
The CMU College of Medicine supports and encourages students enrolled in the MD program to become involved in clinically-relevant volunteer activities within the broader community and considers these to be approved curricular activities. Students engaged in such volunteer activities will be protected by Central Michigan University’s liability/medical malpractice insurance, provided that the conditions for the volunteer activities are fulfilled as outlined in the student handbook, and the policy titled “Liability/malpractice coverage for endorsed volunteer experiences”.
