After six weeks of formal bargaining, Central Michigan University and the CMU Faculty Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract. Upon ratification, the new collective bargaining agreement will succeed the labor agreement between the parties that expired June 30, 2024.

Terms of the agreement will be released once it is ratified by the union’s 575 tenured and tenure-track faculty members.

“The parties worked in earnest to sort through complex and important issues, and CMU is pleased with the outcome represented by the tentative agreement,” said Dennis Armistead, executive director of Faculty Personnel Services.

The CMU Faculty Association will communicate directly with bargaining unit members regarding their ratification process.
