Members of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-Communications Workers of America Local 412 have a new three-year contract with Central Michigan University.

The bargaining unit includes 25 staff employed in radio and television production, engineering, and marketing assignments at WCMU Public Media, which provides NPR and PBS programming to central and northern Michigan.

In the first year of the agreement, members will receive a $500 non-base lump-sum payment, and university contributions toward health care insurance premiums will remain at the same level in effect June 30, 2019. Wage adjustments and benefits contributions in the second and third years of the new agreement will match those of the professional and administrative employee group.

President Bob Davies and NABET-CWA ratified the agreement June 3. The current agreement expires June 30, 2019, and the new agreement covers July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.
