Finance, facilities top agenda for April Board of Trustees meeting
Trustees also set to tour College of the Arts and Media
The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will meet in formal session at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, following scheduled committee meetings on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Items on the agenda for the April sessions include amending operating cash and endowment fund investment policies, and consideration of project design and pre-construction services to support a new men’s and women’s golf training facility on CMU’s campus.
CMU President Neil MacKinnon also will offer a university report updating trustees on progress and developments since the February meeting.
Prior to the formal session on Thursday afternoon, trustees will visit the College of the Arts and Media to learn more about programs and initiatives underway in the college. Jefferson Campbell, dean of the College of the Arts and Media, also will give a presentation during Thursday’s meeting.
Other items on the meeting agenda include:
- Consideration of emeritus rank for 22 faculty and staff members.
- Approval of prospective Spring 2025 graduates.
- Approval of Public School Academy activities.
- Consideration of a $25 increase to the international student orientation fee.
- Renewal of lease agreements for 802 Industrial Drive and several CMU Public Broadcasting locations.
- Acceptance of Advancement Private Support report.
- Consideration of new endowments, awards and scholarships.
- Appointment of Directors to the CMU Research Corporation.
Highlights for Wednesday’s committee meetings include:
- Academic and Student Affairs Committee, 2:00-3:00 p.m. – Provost and Executive Vice President Paula Lancaster will offer an update on the Academic Affairs division with Dean of the College of Business Administration Chris Moberg. Interim Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Erica Johnson will report on developments within the division. Regan Foster, director of student media will give a presentation on independent student newspaper CM Life. Vice President of Student Recruitment and Retention Jennifer DeHaemers will provide an enrollment and retention update, as well as an update on CMU’s strategic enrollment management plan.
- Finance and Facilities Committee, 3:00-3:50 p.m. – Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services Mary Hill and Associate Vice President of Facilities Management Jonathan Webb will update trustees on capital and deferred maintenance projects.
- Trustees-Faculty Liaison Committee, 4:00-4:45 p.m. – Jay Batzner, faculty in the School of Music, along with students Maggie Bauer and Jacob McLeod, will offer a presentation on the school’s commercial music program.
- Trustees-Student Liaison Committee, 4:45-5:30 p.m. – Student Government Association President Carolina Hernandez Ruiz and Vice President Aashka Barot will offer a report on SGA activities. Program Board President Kathlyn Allmacher and Residence Hall Association advisor Brittnie Vithanage also will provide updates from their organizations. Incoming leaders of SGA and Program Board also will be introduced to the committee.

Board of Trustees meetings are open to the university community and members of the public. All meetings will be held in the President’s Conference Room in the Bovee University Center, with seating for up to 25 individuals in the adjoining Lake Superior Room.
