We aim to create innovative programming, boost cross-campus and ecosystem collaboration and provide a comprehensive mentoring program.

      Celebrating excellence: College celebrates leadership

      by Kathleen Hodgkins

The Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions honored Dr. Thomas J. Masterson, Jr. through a Leadership Recognition at the spring college meeting.

The recognition honored his time at CMU beginning in 1999 where he was an assistant professor of anatomy in the School of Health Sciences. Dr. Masterson achieved both associate professor and professor status in 2004 and then chair of the School of Health Sciences later that year.

Dr. Masterson distinguished himself through service to the interim dean of the college from September 2007 until June 2009, when he became associate dean. He continued to actively contribute to the professional and scholarly life of serving again as interim dean from 2015-2016, as well as dean from March 2016-2024.

Faculty and staff expressed their appreciation and gratitude to him for his contributions to CMU and the college.
