Central Michigan University’s main campus and CMU North building in Mount Pleasant will be closed Tuesday, January 21 due to bitterly cold temperatures in the area.
In-person and online synchronous classes are canceled; asynchronous online classes should not be affected by the closure. Offices and buildings will close; exceptions include residence halls and residential dining facilities. Some venues, such as the Student Activities Center or the main library, may have limited hours, and scheduled athletic events may occur; please check their respective web sites or social media accounts for the latest updates.
We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate any further actions to our community via email and the CMU Facebook and CMU Twitter accounts.
Employees who work in 24-hour operations or whose services may be needed during the closure should check with their supervisor for specific instructions relative to reporting to work. Faculty and staff who have the ability to work remotely may do so as directed by their supervisor. Class and work activities previously scheduled for remote instruction/work will continue.
