Central Michigan University President Bob Davies will deliver his first State of the University address at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in Warriner Hall’s Plachta Auditorium.
The event is open to faculty, staff, students, community partners, alumni and friends and will be followed by a reception in the Bovee University Center Rotunda. Guests also may view the address via livestream on the Office of the President website.
In keeping with tradition, the president will highlight successes from the past academic year, acknowledge and address current challenges, and share his vision for the years ahead.
At the September meeting of CMU’s Board of Trustees, Davies announced plans for a 10-year strategic envisioning process with the working title “Rigor, Relevance and Excellence.” His State of the University address will expand further on his vision for CMU in 2030, including specific actions the university will take to address challenges currently facing higher education.
