Tune in Friday, April 11 at 1 p.m. for great ideas and fierce competition. Then, join the judges, mentors, spectators and teams as they see who is going home with thousands of dollars in venture financing. The awards broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. and one team will walk away as the overall best venture.

Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration is the home of the Isabella Bank Institute for Entrepreneurship and the first Department of Entrepreneurship in the state of Michigan. We are a student-centric hub where experiential, curricular, and external entrepreneurial opportunities intersect.

Our mission is to maximize student success by fostering a campus-wide entrepreneurial mindset that promotes inter-disciplinary collaboration and the creation of new ventures.

We aim to create innovative programming, boost cross-campus and ecosystem collaboration and provide a comprehensive mentoring program.

Our institute provides extracurricular opportunities and is open to all undergraduate and graduate CMU students.

Student opportunities

      In memoriam: Christopher Baxter

      Christopher Baxter, a longtime facilities management employee, passed away Sunday, July 30. 

      Christopher Baxter smiles for the camera while wearing glasses and a Hawaiian shirt.Chris will be remembered for his positive attitude and willingness to help others. He first joined the Central Michigan University community in December 2000 as a police dispatcher before becoming a member of the building services team, as a custodian in March 2012 where he worked for the remainder of his employment.

      His supervisor mentioned, “On several occasions I witnessed students shaking Chris’ hand and thanking him for his military service, which Chris was very proud of.”  

      Another colleague shared, “Chris always had a smile on his face and was willing to help his fellow colleagues. He will be deeply missed.” 

       

      He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; his children, Nolan Baxter and Levi Baxter; his parents, Bob and Sue, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.  An official obituary with information about a memorial service is available through Berry Funeral Home.
