Then, join the judges, mentors, spectators and teams as they see who is going home with thousands of dollars in venture financing. The awards broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. and one team will walk away as the overall best venture.

Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration is the home of the Isabella Bank Institute for Entrepreneurship and the first Department of Entrepreneurship in the state of Michigan. We are a student-centric hub where experiential, curricular, and external entrepreneurial opportunities intersect.

Sharing the sound of jazz

CMU School of Music two student jazz ensembles will perform Sunday, April 7, in Staples Family Concert Hall.

CMU School of Music’s two "student jazz ensembles will perform Sunday, April 7, at Staples Family Concert Hall in the Music Building.

Leading up to the concert, Jazz Central and Jazz Lab 1 are fine-tuning the details. Both ensembles perform challenging music that was written for professional musicians.

“It is very rewarding to witness and be a part of the success of the students,” said director Robbie Smith, who has been directing jazz ensembles at CMU for more than 19 years.

Jazz Central performs at 2 p.m., and Jazz Lab 1 performs at 5 p.m. Both performances will include music from a variety of jazz composers, and every song will feature student soloists.
