The Central Michigan University College of Business Administration recently hosted 37 high school students for a real-world business simulation competition.
CMU faculty and students introduced high school students from the Gratiot-Isabella Technical Education Center to SAP, a software program that integrates business functions such as accounting, purchasing, production and human resources.
The students applied what they learned during the fourth annual ERPsim high school competition. ERPsim stands for Enterprise Resource Planning Simulation, a real-world business simulation using real-time data.
“I learned how to run a business, collaborate with a team and listen to mentors,” said Andrew Vos, a senior at Mount Pleasant High School.
Vos and his team took first place in the competition based on highest company valuation. Each of the four students from the winning team will receive a $500 scholarship to attend the College of Business Administration at CMU.
