      Social Work celebrates 20th anniversary

      by Sarah Buckley

The faculty and staff of Central Michigan University’s Bachelor of Social Work program are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the program’s first accreditation through two events this October.

On Homecoming Saturday, October 12, walk in or watch the parade with the Social Work Program. Join us for cider and donuts at the Social Work tent as we watch the parade or walk with current faculty and students in the parade. Those planning to walk in the parade should meet in the Social Work office, Anspach Hall 034, by 10:00 a.m.

On Wednesday, October 16, the Social Work program will honor Dr. Suzanne Cross, the founding director of the BSW program, with a public reception from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Rotunda. Please RSVP to swk@cmich.edu

“We are proud of the BSW program's accomplishments since our first accreditation, especially our work to advance social justice,” said Social Work Program Director Susan Grettenberger. “We look forward to another 20 years of teaching and other efforts that make the world better for all.”
