Students from all around the world come to our campus to learn, grow and live together. Our on-campus housing offers a comfortable and secure place to live, while fostering a community for you to call home.

Campus housing

Living on-campus gives you easy access to classes, a variety of food options and ways to stay healthy and fit. You will also have:

  • Free laundry on every floor.
  • Included utilities like gas, electric, water, internet, recycling and trash.
  • No maintenance or yard work, like repairs or shoveling.
  • Access to care advocates, who are licensed mental health professionals right in your residence hall. 
  • A private bathroom per room, for you and your roommates to share. 

Undergraduate housing

There are 17 residence halls on campus with a variety of room layout options to choose from. First year student rooms feature 2-bedroom suites shared by 4 people with a private bathroom. Second year students can also choose from 4-person, 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom suites.

Graduate housing

Our newly-built graduate housing offers one-, two-, and four-bedroom apartments. Each has full kitchens, in-unit laundry, living and kitchen/dining rooms. Plus, our graduate community means you’ll live alongside peers who are focused on the same thing you are, earning your graduate degree.

Dining on campus

There are 17 different places for food across campus. Grab-and-go style eateries, including coffee cafes and sandwich shops,  are great places to enjoy delicious food on the go. While residential restaurants, which are located in living facilities, are buffet-style eateries with rotating menus.

Grab-and-go options

Located around campus, these quick service options allow you to get delicious snacks, drinks and meals on the go. 

  • Curly Noodle: Ramen options including tonkatsu pork, classic chicken, shrimp and vegan options. Sides include dumplings and spring rolls!
  • Einstein Bros Bagels: Offers a variety of bagel and wrap options featuring egg, deli meats, humus and fresh vegetables.
  • Ponder Coffee: Hand-crafted coffee drinks and baked goods including donuts, scones and muffins
  • Idli Dosa: Features authentic Indian dishes like paneer tikka, vegetable samosa, tikka masala and more.
  • Slim Chickens: Fried chicken, sandwiches and salads with a delicious side of fries.
  • Starbucks: An American staple with caffeinated beverages and sweet treats.

Located right in your residence halls, these self-serve eateries have rotating menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Food accommodations

We cater to all eating styles, accommodating all food allergies and dietary needs. We’ll even meet with you for a personal menu consultation.

If you’d like more guidance, you can also meet with on-campus registered dietitian. You’ll receive free nutrition counseling for food allergies, food restrictions, vegetarian and vegan lifestyles, disease prevention and general wellness.


Health and fitness

Play competitively against your fellow CMU students or other schools with 100+ intramural and club teams. Try out some favorites including cricket, boxing, golf, Esports, dance and more!

You will also get access to group fitness classes like yoga and cycle. One-on-one coaching and personal training are also available to help you stay on top of your fitness goals.
