Central Michigan University has announced the dates for its 2025 fall break for main campus, face-to-face classes: Monday, October 6, and Tuesday, October 7, 2025. CMU added the dates to the online Academic Calendar this afternoon.

The dates were selected with consideration for several fall university-wide events and important national awareness and observation days, including Indigenous Peoples Day and CMU’s 2025 Homecoming celebration.

During fall break, CMU will hold no classes on its main campus; however, the students enrolled in online-only classes through CMU Innovation and Online may still have classes. All students should carefully review their class syllabi and check with their instructors if there are any questions about the break.

CMU remains open during fall break, and most university offices will be open to serve students, faculty, staff, guests and community partners. Residence halls will also remain open for students who choose to remain on campus through the break.
