Graduate student Emily Dimet is Central Michigan University’s first student to receive a Boren Fellowship.

The Boren Fellowship, awarded through the National Security Education Program,  enables U.S. students to study languages and cultures in countries important to U.S. national security interests. The award provides up to $30,000 for overseas studies and requires that scholars commit to working one year for the U.S. federal government following their graduation.

Dimet is finishing her first year of studies in CMU’s Master of Science in Administration - International Administration  program. Once her fellowship is complete, Dimet will return to CMU to complete her degree before beginning her government job.

With the knowledge she has gained in her graduate studies, she hopes to pursue a position working with educational and cultural exchange programs.
