Statistical Consulting Center - Upcoming Workshops

Parametric statistical methods for testing population means

Friday, February 7th, 2025. 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Pearce Hall 101 (36 Seats)

This workshop will discuss the statistical methods for testing the difference between two or among three or more population means on independent and dependent samples, and the assumptions for each method. Topics includes two-sample t test, paired t test, one way ANOVA, repeated ANOVA.

Non-Parametric statistical methods for testing population means

Friday, February 28, 2025. 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Pearce Hall 101 (36 Seats)

This workshop will discuss the alternative statistical methods for testing the difference between two or among three or more population means on independent and dependent samples when the assumptions for two-sample t test, paired t test, one way ANOVA, repeated ANOVA have been violated. Topics includes Mann-Whitney test, Wilcoxon Signed rank test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Friedman’s ANOVA.

Compare the statistical methods for testing population means for independent samples

Friday, March 21, 2025. 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Pearce Hall 101 (36 Seats)

This workshop will compare the statistical methods for testing the difference between two or among three or more population means on independent samples, how those methods are related to each other, and the assumptions for each method. Topics includes Two-sample t test, one way ANOVA, multiple linear regression.

Compare the statistical methods for testing population means for dependent samples

Time/Date (Fridays): 2:30pm-3:30pm, Apr. 11

Location: Pearce Hall 101 (36 Seats)

This workshop will compare the statistical methods for testing the difference between two or among three or more population means on dependent samples, how those methods are related to each other, and the assumptions for each method. Topics includes Paired t test, repeated ANOVA, mixed design ANOVA.
