Student Life
Fired up
With students from all over the country, world and all walks of life, the Central Michigan community is diverse, tight-knit and active.
Catch one of our 15 Division 1 athletic teams in competition. Join one of 300 student organizations—or start a new one. Play intramural sports, join a Greek-lettered organization or participate in our nationally-ranked Alternative Break program offered through the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center. Take advantage of our connection with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe by experiencing the annual Celebrating Life Pow wow. Check out a music or theatrical performance. Find fun and surprises in downtown Mt. Pleasant. Build a lifelong community of friendship and support!
As a CMU Chippewa, your opportunities are only limited by your imagination.
Keep moving
There is so much to do at our 175,000-square-foot Student Activity Center. If you can't find your jam—we're eager to know what it is!
Great performances
You don't have to look far for inspiration when you're on the Central Michigan campus. It's all around and it's homegrown.
Do good
Teach local kids to read, stock the food pantry, join a conservation project or even spend your break working toward social justice.
Students fulfill dreams of Special Olympians
When NASCAR's best drivers came to the Michigan International Speedway, they weren't the only world-class athletes in the house.
