Benefit Selection for New Faculty

Depending on your eligibility, the university offers healthcare coverage, flexible spending accounts, an employee assistance program, retirement benefits, and more. Selecting your benefits is something we encourage you to think about before coming to campus.  For the benefits options available to you, review the Benefits-in-Brief included with your faculty appointment letter. 

For all benefit-eligible faculty, CMU uses an online benefits enrollment system called CMU Choices. New hires and newly eligible faculty have 30 calendar days from their appointment date to select and enroll in benefits. It is very important you make selections before the expiration of this 30-day window, as you cannot make changes after that period. If no selections are made, you will be defaulted into certain plans.
