Congratulations and a warm welcome to the Central Michigan University family! You did it - you've been admitted! Now, let's jump into what's next.
Pay your enrollment deposit via the application portal to secure your spot in the incoming class.
Pay your deposit by April 1 and you'll receive a yard sign to show your CMU pride!
Admitted? You're automatically considered for Merit Awards.

Next, you’ll need to set up your CMICH account including your new cmich.edu email. Use your “New CMU Account PIN” found at the bottom of your congratulations letter (you can also find it under the “Next Steps” section after logging in below) to get started.
We recommend setting up your account as soon as you submit your deposit. You'll need it for almost everything, including:
Once your enrollment deposit is processed, we'll email you the Residential Community Living Guide at your cmich.edu email. Be sure to set up your CMICH account to stay updated on important information regarding housing, meal plans, residence hall preferences and finding a roommate.
*First- and second-year students must live on campus unless exempt.
Ready to dive in? Start your housing application and explore #lifeatcentral as you take the exciting step toward joining our vibrant community! Have any questions? We've got answers. Read up on our housing Apply For Housing FAQs.
For the fall semester, your initial housing payment is due on May 1. If you apply for housing after this date, simply submit your payment along with your housing application.
As for the spring semester, your housing charges are due on February 1, aligning with the tuition deadline. Expect to receive a billing statement with an outline of all payment details in early January.
At the start of the semester, keep an eye on your CMU inbox for an important email. It's all about confirming your roommate and housing preferences so the Office of Residence Life can match you to the situation where you are most comfortable.
If you don't specify your roommate preferences, a roommate will be assigned to you based on your housing preferences.

At either the beginning of the fall or spring semester, you'll be ready to sign up for your orientation. New student orientation is required for all undergraduate, degree-seeking students.
This is where you'll sign up for courses and learn more about life on campus. The sooner you have orientation, the more you can customize your course schedule. Spots are first come, first serve, so it's best to do this as soon as possible. After you register, you will receive instructions on how to prepare for your orientation date.
