Application timeline: Applications are accepted until classes begin, but there are advantages to applying early, such as scholarship eligibility, the ability to register for classes and selecting housing options earlier.

High school students may apply as early as Aug.1 the summer before the start of their senior year. We recommend applying by Oct.15 to be considered for all competitive scholarship programs. Priority consideration for first-come, first-served merit scholarship funds is given to applications completed by Dec.1.

Transfer students should apply by March 1 for summer/fall semesters and December 1 to start in the spring.

Visit our How to Apply page for comprehensive instructions, key deadlines and additional resources.

Visit campus: A campus visit allows you to hear directly from admissions, explore residential halls and immerse yourself in the energy that defines CMU. So, pick your visit date, put on your comfy shoes and come experience our community of doers for yourself.

Submit enrollment deposit: Pay the enrollment deposit via the application portal to secure your student's spot in the incoming class. This deposit is essential to confirm their enrollment.

Financial Aid resources: Complete your FAFSA! The application typically opens on October 1 for the following year's enrollment. For students beginning in Fall 2024, access was delayed until January 2024 due to the introduction of a new application by Federal Student Aid. CMU Federal School Code: 002243.
