Discover unique spaces at the Park Library

The Park Library offers more than rows of books, computers, and study tables. It’s a hub of inclusive and unique spaces that support many students’ needs.

The Family Study Room in Park 118 is perfect for CMU students, faculty, and staff who are parents, guardians, or caregivers. This room allows individuals to study and work on projects while keeping an eye on their children. The room includes:

  • Adult and toddler-sized tables and chairs.
  • Marker boards.
  • A height-adjustable computer desk.
  • A lockable nursing cubicle with a lounge chair.
  • Power outlets.

The inclusive restroom is nearby, and the first-floor restrooms by the elevators have changing tables. CMU students, faculty, and staff bringing their children with them while using the library can register for access to this room, which will enable their Central ID to open the door. This family-friendly space helps users balance their academic and family responsibilities.

If you seek a quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of campus, take a break in the library’s Quality of Life Rooms. These spaces are perfect for de-stressing, meditation, prayer, and reflection. They are also available for nursing mothers. Both rooms include a lounge chair, standing lamp, worktable, power outlets, and a lockable door. The Quality of Life Room in Park 351 also has a sink and paper towels. The Quality of Life Room in Park 121 is adjacent to the inclusive restroom. CMU students, faculty, and staff may access these rooms using their Central ID. These peaceful rooms are a great place to recharge and unwind.

The Park Library offers several single-occupancy restrooms, two in the Clark Historical Library and one in the 1st Floor Quiet Study Room. These restrooms provide a space where everyone can feel safe, comfortable, and respected. The inclusive restroom in the 1st Floor Quiet Study Room is handicapped accessible, includes a wudu foot wash trough, and has a diaper-changing station.

These thoughtful, inclusive spaces demonstrate the University Library’s commitment to providing more than just academic resources. We want to foster an environment that supports every aspect of student life. Explore these spaces and make the library your go-to for studying and self-care.
