Details: | ERPsim uses SAP software in a business simulation game. Teams compete in the German cereal market selling to wholesale customers in big box stores, chain grocery stores, and convenience stores. Each team must forecast demand, calculate material shortages, procure material, and manufacture their products. Once inventory is manufactured, each team must then make marketing and pricing decisions. Each team must also manage an eight-million-dollar loan and consider investments such as setup time reduction and the addition of manufacturing capacity. The successful teams will earn the highest corporate valuation, which reflects not only profit and sales, but also investments and debt management. Keys to the game are finding the best product mix, the optimal prices, and never stocking out. There will be forty teams playing in two separate flights today with teams on each of the two systems. Each game has four rounds of 20 days. Each day lasts 60 seconds. The top ten teams from each of the first flights will advance to the championship round. The remaining teams will play in the consolation round. Scholarships are awarded to the top five teams in the championship round and top three in the consolation round. |
