Accreditation Criteria
Institutions that the Higher Learning Commission accredits are evaluated against the Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation, a set of standards that institutions must meet to receive and/or maintain accredited status. The Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation reflect a set of guiding values. In addition, institutions are required to abide by a set of practices shared by institutions of higher education in the United States called assumed practices. These Assumed Practices are generally matters to be determined as facts, rather than matters requiring professional judgment and unlikely to vary by institutional mission or context.
While holding affiliation with the Higher Learning Commission, CMU must voluntarily and continually meet certain obligations of affiliation.
