First Year Experience

First Year Experience is an engaging, evidence-based university course specifically designed to help you succeed academically and make the most out of your college experience.

Research shows that FYE students are more likely to be successful in other academic classes, continue their college education, have greater self-awareness and take advantage of academic resources and services. FYE students participate in and create engaged learning experiences. Essentially, students who enroll in and complete FYE 101 are more likely to be successful.

Central Michigan University offers select sections of FYE for students in Pathways. These special sections have been proven to improve retention to the sophomore year.
