Visit the Ziibiwing Center
The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe created the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture and Lifeways to enlighten and educate all communities in the rich culture, heritage and history of the Anishinabek people of the Great Lakes.
Located just south of the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, the Ziibiwing Center’s exhibits and services present the beauty and vibrancy of the Anishinabe culture. Learning about this rich culture begins when you enter the eastern doorway of the center’s great teaching lodge.
The name of the Ziibiwing Center’s permanent exhibit, Diba Jimooyung, in the Anishinabe language means “Telling Our Story.” The beautiful and descriptive language, called Anishinabemowin, can be seen and heard throughout the exciting Diba Jimooyung exhibit.
Through this permanent exhibit and other changing exhibitions, the Ziibiwing Center promotes the belief that the culture, diversity and spirit of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan and other Great Lakes Anishinabek must be recognized, perpetuated, communicated and supported.
