Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest
(for current students)
The Multicultural Academic Student Services office at Central Michigan University is proud to present the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest. The purpose of the oratorical contest is to recognize and give students the opportunity to reflect on the words of Dr. King while connecting his messages to issues facing our nation in the 21st century. Additionally, participants are provided an opportunity to enhance their own writing and communication skills through oration.

LaMarcus Howard Scholarship
(for current students)
The LaMarcus D. Howard Scholarship is an annual award available to Central Michigan University's multicultural community. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership and community involvement from Flint, Michigan with a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.8. Applicants will provide an essay (3 pages of less) that describes how the applicant has distinguished themselves in the advancement of underrepresented groups in American society. Applicants will also express their financial need.
