Biography

Allison K. Arnekrans obtained her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and is currently working as a Professor in the M.A. in Counseling Program at Central Michigan University. Her professional background includes service as a Licensed Professional Counselor and supervisor working with youth/families in Community Mental Health (CMH), an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and within a partial hospitalization program. She currently maintains a small caseload working in the private practice setting. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Arnekrans is engaged in professional associations at the local, state, and national levels. She has served as the Mu Kappa Chapter Faculty Advisor at CMU since 2014, when she reactivated the campus-based chapter. Her current research interests include personal counseling requirements in graduate programs, program advisory councils, telehealth in campus training clinics, and student/faculty engagement.
