Munishamaiah, Alyse

Biography

Alyse joined CMU's Innovation & Online division in 2022 as an Associate Director of Outreach, Business and Community Engagement. She is based in Lansing, Michigan and serves the Capitol Region, Grand Rapids and West Michigan, as well as the Saginaw/Bay Area. She is a proud CMU Alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time at CMU, she was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta, the Humane Animal Treatment Society and Rho Lambda. Alyse also has a Masters of Social work from Wayne State University and maintains a clinical social work license in the State of Michigan.

Prior to working for CMU, Alyse did work supporting victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as workforce development specifically for individuals with disabilities. Her experience has helped her identify opportunities, build relationships, and fulfill her passion for breaking down barriers and helping others.

Alyse proudly serves on the CMU’s Disability and Medicine Advisory Committee, combining her passion for higher education and increasing awareness in the community for greater access to healthcare for those with disabilities. She is a member of the Lansing Regional, Grand Rapids and Jackson Chambers of Commerce, UPCEA, STEMM-Up, Capital Area MichiganWorks! Teach Talent Thrive Board, Coalition for College and Career Readiness and more.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, spending time with her husband and dog, and traveling.
