ASST DIR/STUDY ABROAD/FACULTY-LED PRGMS

Biography

With over a decade of experience teaching middle and high school students on three different continents, a bachelor's degree in international relations from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California and a master's degree in international education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to the Office of Study Abroad. Her commitment to experiential learning and personal growth through reflection, service, travel, and empathy is what motivates much of her work.

During her undergraduate studies, Amanda gained valuable experience through internships with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Southern African Affairs, World Vision Kenya, and Care International in Washington, D.C. Additionally, a faculty-led study abroad program to Uganda during her sophomore year and 2.5 years in South Africa with the Peace Corps had a significant influence on shaping her identity and love for understanding the intricacies of cultures around the world.

Amanda is excited to work with faculty members as they design dynamic programs to facilitate the irreplaceable and sometimes inexplicable experience of learning through traveling abroad.
