Biography
Darcie has more than 26 years of experience in project management, portfolio management, organizational change management, strategic planning, and business process redesign. She has a has a unique blend of corporate and academic background and expertise. Her 18-year tenure at Dow Corning Corporation was marked by progressive leadership and responsibility, where she led key organizational projects, managed the entire IT project portfolio, and was invited to join the exclusive IT Strategy Team. She was also entrusted to lead the comprehensive redesign of all IT-related business processes. Furthermore, Darcie’s expertise earned her the leadership of the Business Process Management Governance team, where she developed corporate-wide governance processes, standards, and guidelines for business process maps, procedures, and roles and responsibilities (RACI models).
Hired into Central Michigan University in 2016, Darcie successfully established and led an IT Project Management Office (PMO), introducing portfolio prioritization, project management practices, and standardized processes to enhance service delivery. She was later promoted to oversee the development of a 5-year IT roadmap for strategic initiatives and formed an IT Portfolio Management team of Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Provosts to collaboratively and strategically prioritize the university’s IT portfolio. Darcie’s leadership extended further as she contributed to the University Strategic Planning team and the Academic Planning team. In her role as Deputy CIO, she began the development of the technology plan as a key component of the University Strategic Plan.
As Chief Transformation Officer, Darcie is responsible for leading activities related to portfolio prioritization and management, program and project execution, business process improvements, operational optimization, and organizational transformation for all units including administrative, auxiliary, and academic, at Central Michigan University.
