Stobinski, James
Biography
Dr. James Stobinski is a certified perioperative registered nurse with nearly 40 years of healthcare experience. He is also a veteran with 34 years of service split between enlisted service in the United States Army and as a United States Navy Nurse Corps officer. Upon retirement from the military, he worked in senior management roles in surgical services and healthcare administration. He has extensive experience in credentialing and certification processes for healthcare professions. Dr. Stobinski worked at the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) in Denver, Colorado from 2011 to 2024, becoming the CEO in 2017. In 2018, he led the startup of the CCI Research Foundation and assumed the role of CEO for that non-profit corporation. He has served as adjunct faculty at Edgewood College, Nova Southeastern University, and Wilkes University. He also teaches surgical assistants in the graduate program at East Virginia Medical School. He has previously served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) and the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
Dr. Stobinski maintains an active research agenda centered on nursing workforce issues, certification, and patient outcomes research. His education includes a Diploma of Nursing from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree both from East Carolina University. He also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree from Webster University and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in international health research from Touro University International.
